The unique Brompton folding bike was designed and built in London in 1975 by Andrew Ritchie in his flat in South Kensington opposite the Brompton Oratory. Still made in London today, Brompton is making over 45,000 bikes per year and is the UK’s largest bike manufacturer.
Made in London
Each bike is hand brazed by skilled craftsman at the London factory. This makes every bike incredibly tough and unique. Each brazer is trained by Brompton for 18 months and has a ‘signature’ which they stamp on the parts of the bike that they work on. London is a city of icons and a Brompton bike is one of them. Its unique profile sets it apart from other bikes.
80% of the componentry on their bikes is designed and made for Brompton, the work that goes into designing, researching and developing their products is clearly critical.
Brompton give you the flexibility to choose your favourite colour, including an ability to have 2 tone colour schemes, all you need is an imagination!
